1/10 scale R/C racing 2WD buggies are a fun category to rip through off road racing tracks and park settings alike! Their chassis layouts have evolved over the years as track surface trends evolved to high-traction curated dirt and carpet surfaces, but one layout remains a fan favorite, the rear motor with longitudinal battery layout configuration. Tamiya reintroduces this classic layout design popular in the early 2000’s with the DN-01SR chassis, first seen as the TRF201 then later released as the budget DN-01.

This chassis kit creates a 2WD buggy with a longitudinal battery position with R/C units placed on either side for optimum balance. While the original DN-01 chassis features bearing-type front wheel attachment, this DN-01SR chassis kit employs hex-hub type front wheel attachment with new parts. Hop-Up Option parts are also included for great off-road race performance!

Well-Balanced DN-01SR Chassis
The 2WD DN-01SR has a longitudinal battery position with R/C units placed on either side for optimum balance. Flat chassis underside enables superb skid characteristics. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension is coupled with long-span suspension arms, CVA shock units, and an aluminum front suspension mount. Monocoque front chassis section features a steering crank with built-in servo saver. In addition, the drivetrain features full ball bearings, and the fully enclosed gearbox is equipped with a ball differential.
